31 Days

I never really follow up on New Year's resolutions, so I made a resolution not to make any resolutions this year. It's been a month since I made my resolution to not resolve and, consequently, it's been a month since I've had a single cigarette. For the past three years, I've made concrete resolutions (you know the drill... you write them down and promise yourself that you'll never do the things in question EVER again), but I've never been able to keep my promises to myself. It seems that every January 1st, I have a fresh cig in my hand and a lighter in the other.

This year, though, I'm finding that by making no promises, there's no pressure to fail. What this means for me? I haven't had a cigarette for a month, and counting.

Using this blog, I will look at the pros and cons of smoking, and explore the experiences of myself and my friends, both smokers and no.
